Back in November, in the Fall Festival post, I promised that I’d make a recipe similar to the Blood Orange Margarita from Lolita’s. Since then, I have been [im]patiently waiting for blood oranges to appear at my local Wegman’s. In fact, I’ll admit that finding fresh blood oranges was something I thought about far too often.
But, as you probably have realized from my last post, I finally got Blood Oranges (thanks to a family friend, Kim, who had her eye out for them for months for me)! Not to worry, they’re everywhere now that they’re in season, so you shouldn’t have a hard time finding them. Since these gorgeous oranges only are available in the winter, make the most of the season and create some delicious cocktails with them– like this Blood Orange Margarita!
- 2 oz fresh blood orange juice
- 2 oz tequila blanco
- 1 oz Grand Marnier
- Splash of lime juice
- Add all of the ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake.
- Strain into a rocks glass with ice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge, blood orange wedge, or mint.
