Slow Cooker Sausage, Spinach, and Artichoke Dip

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about that Spinach and Artichoke Dip Alfredo I made last year.  And the oft requested Crab and Artichoke Dip.  Oh, and Spinach Dip Bites, too!  Mainly because they’re all freakin’ delicious, but also because I have an obsession with any recipe that uses a ton of cheese, spinach, and/or artichokes.

Slow Cooker Sausage, Spinach, and Artichoke Dip. This super cheesy crock pot dip is going to be your new favorite appetizer for parties, tailgates, and more. Best of all, it's so simple to whip together! | hostthetoast.com

I thought about remaking all of those recipes so I could enjoy them again, but I told myself, “NO, MORGAN.  IF YOU’RE GOING TO COOK, YOU NEED TO MAKE SOMETHING NEW FOR THE BLOG.  GET IT TOGETHER.”  I just don’t have the time or patience to cook the same thing more than a few times when there’s so many new recipes to explore.

So you know what I did?  I came up with this awesome Slow Cooker Sausage, Spinach, and Artichoke Dip, and then I made it again.  And then I made it AGAIN.  So much for not repeating recipes!

Loaded Buffalo Chicken Nachos

The best things in life are meant to be shared.  Please remind me of that this upcoming football Sunday when I am HOARDING these Loaded Buffalo Chicken Nachos to myself.

Don’t be surprised if you find me whispering “my precious” over them and viciously swatting away the hands of friends and family members who are eager to try a bite.

Loaded Buffalo Chicken Nachos. Could this be any more perfect for football season? Shredded buffalo chicken, cheesy ranch queso, blue cheese crumbles, pickled jalapenos, and chopped green onions! The ultimate appetizer! | hostthetoast.com

Seriously, I will tackle you linebacker-style if you try to grab a nacho in all of its buffalo chicken glory without asking nicely first.  Be warned.

So, it’s football season and I’m all amped up because my team is doing well for a change, and I’m going all-in with the appetizers this year.  And everyone knows that the number one way to do appetizers on game day is to load up on the buffalo sauce.

Note my other buffalo chicken recipes.

Pull-Apart Pretzel Skillet with Beer Cheese Dip

Today I was planning on posting a different recipe, but I’m feeling very German at the moment so pretzels and beer were a must.

Pull-Apart Pretzel Skillet with Beer Cheese Dip. This skillet is great for a party or game day!

By “feeling very German”, I mean that my whole house is now obsessed with DuoLingo (if you want to learn a language, look it up, it’s free and I’ve been using it for years now!), and I just discovered a kick-butt German music artist that I have been listening to non-stop for the past week.

Non-stop.  I’m listening to him right now, in fact.

Do you ever get like that when you discover a new song/band?  I will literally play the same song 10 times in a row if I have my headphones in.  Tell me I’m not alone.

Tequila Lime Chicken Sandwiches with Guacamole and Chipotle Mayo

When I go out to eat at a casual restaurant, there’s about a 75% chance I’m going to get a chicken sandwich if there is one on the menu.  It’s only 75% because sometimes I like to “broaden my horizons”, or whatever you’d like to call it.  But the truth is I could get chicken sandwiches every time and never get sick of them.

There is one complaint I have to make about pretty much every chicken sandwich I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant, though, and that is that it is always missing something.  That’s not to say it’s not delicious, but every time I get a chicken sandwich, I always wind up thinking, “this would be better if the chicken was marinated/it had a sauce/there was guacamole/it was spicier/it was cheesier,” etc.  Then I go home, think about how I should make a chicken sandwich for the blog, and then 20 minutes later I forget.

Usually.  But not this time.

Cannoli Dip

A few years ago, my then-roommate Allison and I were broke college students who could barely afford to pay our rent and cable bills, let alone buy anything for anyone else.  When we realized Father’s Day was just around the corner, we panicked a bit.  Dads are hard enough to shop for in the first place (I swear they have everything they want, and how many years of football-themed gifts can you really give them?)  but throw being penniless into the mix and there’s nothing you can get them.  Moms like heart-felt cards, or collages of pictures, or hand-written poems, but dads… what do dads like that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on?

Cannoli Dip! This guilt free recipe is delicious and NO ONE can believe that it's lightened up!

Well, for one, dads like cannoli.

With this revelation, Allison and I decided to make mini cannoli cups for Father’s Day with ingredients we had in the house already, ingredients that happened to make our mini cannoli much less guilt-inducing than your typical, traditional cannoli would be.  Guess what?  They were still amazing, and no one could get enough of them.  No one could believe that they weren’t insanely bad for you.  But they weren’t.  Not at all.
