(Day 7 of the 12 Days of Christmas)
Simple, fun, and tasty– that’s what I think of Kamikaze shots. Whether you’re a novice or a pro behind the bar, you can whip up a round of Kamikazes in just a few seconds. Kamikaze shots are perfect for parties because they are so easy to make in bulk, so I decided to make them for the holiday party I hosted a few weeks ago.
However, plain Kamikazes are boring to look at. I decided to kick it up a notch by coloring them and adding a pop rock rim. Make sure you use pourers, because mine didn’t turn out as great as they should have due to shaky hands and splashing the pop rocks with all types of liquid as I was pouring. Still, these were great. The photo doesn’t do the shots justice (snapping photos in a dark basement is never easy) but trust me, they turn out quite nicely. Try ’em out at your next get-together and let me know what you think! The pop rocks are my favorite part. I used a red and blue color combo to match the theme of the party, but you can use any colors to match any theme! These would also be great for New Years and the 4th of July.

- Triple Sec
- Lime juice
- Food dye
- Pop rocks
- Vanilla frosting
- Add a few drops of food coloring to a bottle of Triple Sec. A little goes a long way. Shake the bottle up to mix, and add more if you need to.
- Dip the rims of your shot glasses in the vanilla frosting and spin to coat. Then do the same in the pop rocks.
- Pour one part Vodka, one part Triple Sec, and one part lime juice into each shot glass and serve.
